Paired as teammates on an extreme survival reality show, Cadence and Jackson met for the first time as naked strangers, totally dependent on each other for getting through the grueling three-week challenge they'd auditioned for. Their partnership quickly transformed into romantic infatuation, like star-crossed fated lovers meant to be together, yet made to conceal their growing feelings from the camera crew following their every move. Away from family, friends, lovers, their cellphones, the internet, and all modern conveniences including their clothes for nearly a month, Jackson and Cadence developed an uncommon closeness and dependency surviving an inhospitable territory together. But for Cadence, their connection rocks her to the core, already in a monogamous relationship, and believing Jackson to be the "lone wolf" single type not into romantic entanglements. When the show ends and the cameras are turned off, Cadence and Jackson struggle to let go of their deep emotional and sexual connection and assimilate back into their normal lives living in different states. Convinced what she felt for Jackson was true love, Cadence instigates a surprise face-to-face meeting and discovers there's more to Jackson than he'd shared.
