Abbey

Alex Garcia plays Thomas, a lackey in the abbey, who forges an invitation to the duke, played by Darius Ferdynand. The forged letter invites the Duke to an appearance at the Abbey. Thomas leads the Duke to his room on arrival and helps him unpack his luggage. The Duke asks Thomas to wash his feet where Thomas confesses his love to him. The Duke tells him that because of the stages of their lives, they will never be together. Thomas asks Thomas to take the Duke in his arms again. The Duke agrees to give him one last night. Paul Walker plays Lord Martin, the master of the house, who wants to give a party in the hope of finding a suitor. On the night of the party, Lord Martin is bored to death. He retreats to his study to be alone and is served a drink by a footman James, played by Daniel Johnson. The party goes on while Lord Martin hides and asks lackey James to dance. The music plays and the dance turns into a sultry tango. Their bodies come closer and closer together until the Lord kisses his servant. Jace Tyler plays Steven, the youngest son of the Lord of the Abbey. Steven is a thought leader and a man of social change unlike any other at the time. He finds in his driver Tom, played by Paddy O'Brian, a like-minded person. Their shared views of the world are transformed into their shared love for one another. They admit their feelings for each other, but know that they can never be in the world they live in. Before they leave the abbey, Steven and Tom can spend a night together, the only one they will always cherish. After the Duke has left them because of his bad position in life, in the final scene, footman Thomas looks at his footman colleague Jimmy. Jimmy confesses that he knows about Thomas and the Duke when Thomas tries to make an overture. Jimmy tells Thomas that they will never be together, but that doesn't stop Thomas from making another advance in the middle of the night as he sneaks into Jimmy's room. Jimmy wakes up, finds Thomas on him and gives in to his desires.
